I’m from Chicago, and I brought my family of six for a last leg of a long vacation to Paris for 3 days. We stayed right around the corner from this bakery and I stumbled upon it early the first morning right around the corner from my hotel. My wife wanted croissants so I was on a mission. Luckily this place didn’t pop on my Google search or I wouldn’t have gone due to the reviews…. I went to Frederic Sicard Bakery EVERY MORNING!
Yes, the ladies at the counter are a bit “rude”, yes they don’t speak English well, yes the lines are long and the staff is stressed, but it’s because as a tourist, THIS IS WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR!!!!
It’s what I would consider authentic French pastries and as a tourist this is what I want. They were AMAZING and the atmosphere was if I were local, and as a visitor in their country I tried to blend in as a local. I’m 100% American but when visiting other countries I do not and should not expect them to be even 1% American. If you worked at Starbucks in America could you take my order in 100% French when the line was long and you got up at 4am? Would you seem slightly miffed or stressed?? I know I would!
Don’t miss this place!!! The food is AMAZING and the attitude and atmosphere are exactly what a true tourist should look for! All you see in these pics + 1 latte and 1 cappuccino not picture was only €27!!!
This is my last morning in Paris and I wanted to thank the hard working ladies at Frederic Sicard Bakery for making my pastry breakfasts something to remember!- Service

Wonderful pastry shoppe. They were taking hundreds of baguettes out the door for delivery to other stores and restaurants. Fantastic flavor!

Came with wife and kids for a nice light lunch and was not disappointed. Prices were great compared to what we've seen. Service was good and the quality of the good was amazing. Shocked to see a low rating, highly recommend.

Location wise it’s very close to the Eiffel tower. It’s not the most cosy place to eat at, but for a quick breakfast or take away it’s perfect and their definitely food makes up for it! Very tasty croissants and pastries.

Staff are so friendly - I spoke English and they were quite happy to communicate in good English. I asked if they would kindly cut a bagel we purchased in half for me, which they did and provided a plastic knife for free to assist us with our picnic under the Eiffel Tower.
The bagel was superb. We also purchased a couple of Torte slices - delicious.Line is long...but it is worth it! The fresh breads and delicious warm sandwiches were a hit.

Great boulangerie. I loved the pain au chocolat, and i think they have the best chausson aux pommes i have ever tasted. Great coffee too.

There was a small line when I went, but it moved fast. There was only one guy I saw working but he was quick and very nice. I got a chocolate éclair and a pastel de nata (I'm not sure what they call it in France). Both were delicious.

Absolutely the best bakery we've been to in Paris! If you don't speak french, it's completely ok, they understand you fine and speak fluent english themself. The pastries were the best we've ever had and we're gonna miss them so much when we leave. We had plain croissants and coffee and we just have to go back for their pistachio pain au chocolat. No regrets! Absolutely amazing!!
